The Oriental is the perfect setting in which to see Public Enemies—the theatre was scouted by Universal Pictures as a potential stand-in for Chicago’s Biograph—and in celebration of the film’s release we’re hosting a special Opening Night Gala on Wednesday, July 1. Period cars (courtesy of the Classic Car Club of America) will adorn the street outside the Oriental; inside, we’ll have a display of rare Dillinger memorabilia, including an original death mask and uncommon photos. Put on your period gangster duds, and join us for the most eagerly-anticipated film in Wisconsin history!
